Dr. Laxmi Prasad Ghimire is a doctor who wants make something to help Nepalese people to understand that simple hygiene rules can change their life.“Personally, when I finished my medicine course I was working in a city clinic. At that time I found out that many people from the rural area visit my clinic suffering for simple diseases like diarrhea, hepatitis and other acute infections. I understood they could prevent it if they knew how to do it. For instance by washing hands with soap and water. But I think the main problem is the information and the knowledge of the hygiene rules.If you go to the community support they can give you the knowledge. They can teach you how to prevent infections and diseases simply following simple and easy hygiene rules.
MY CHOICE
That’s why how I was attracted by the Public Health, ’cause I thought it was the right way to help people.So, I joined V.I.N. (Volunteer Initiative Nepal) because VIN is doing what was in my mind and what I was interested in, attracting me to work for them and share aims and goals.VIN is building good future for the local people and I want to do my part.”
